Playing Tourist in NYC | Manhattan

It's kind of amazing how infrequently Preston & I go into Manhattan for recreational purposes (not counting going to the office...) Having friends & family visit (especially NYC newbies) gives us the chance to play tourist for the day. We stopped by the usual destinations: Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Herald Square (including a detour through Koreatown), Grand Central, Times Square, Central Park, & Columbus Circle, which all had a holiday twist for the upcoming season.

[Holiday Pop-Up Shops at Bryant Park (above: Ice Skating)]

[The Chrysler Building & the library.]

[Window shopping on Madison Ave. & Herald Square (& finding my long-lost twins at H&M...)]

[The Rockefeller Christmas Tree pre-decorated.]

[...but ready for Christmas.]

[We saw at least 3 ice skating rinks this weekend...]

[Central Park scenes.]

[The Bethesda Fountain.]

[Laying with the leaves.]

[Views from Belvedere Castle.]

[Central Park at Dusk.]

[Columbus Circle always reminds me of when I first moved to the city.]

[It's one of my favourite holiday spots.]

I had a hard time being judicious with this post. I took over 280 pictures this weekend! Most photos were basically just #fallporn... I am looking forward to the holidays, but I will definitely miss the fall leaves. If you are as obsessed with Autumn as I am, stick around for Part II-Brooklyn.

There are many other Manhattan locations we didn't have the time for; some other favs of mine are Union Square, SoHo, Chelsea (especially the High Line), and Lincoln Center (to name a few!) But I think we did an awesome job of exploring Manhattan in 8 hours.

What are some of your favourite NYC spots?
